A popular Safe Ride Home program is returning to the Metro Detroit area this NYE. David Christensen Law launched the program on Thanksgiving Eve in 2015, and has provided over 1,000 drivers with a safe way home during the most alcohol-heavy holidays of the year.
If you’ve had too much to drink, you can call a licensed taxi company, Uber, or Lyft to take you home, and David Christensen Law will reimburse you up to $35 for your ride.
Requirements:
- You must be at least 21.
- Your one-way ride home needs to be within Macomb, Wayne, Washtenaw, Oakland, Bay, Kent or Genesee counties.
- The program begins at 4 p.m. on Mon., Dec. 31, 2018, and runs through Jan. 1, 2019, until 4 a.m.
