Detroit Gardens & Farms Tour and Reception


The 21st Annual Tour of Detroit Gardens & Farms is taking place Wednesday, August 1 from 6-9 p.m. This year, Keep Growing Detroit is partnering with the Detroit Office of Sustainability to showcase some of the people and places that are leading the efforts to make Detroit neighborhoods, homes, and businesses more green, healthy, vibrant, and interconnected.

The tour begins at Eastern Market Shed 3 at 6 p.m. The two hour tour includes 3 bus routes and 4 bike routes and will end back at Shed 3 with a reception featuring live music from Gabriel’s Eh La Bas Band, Detroit-grown produce, and refreshments prepared by local chefs giving guests a taste of Detroit’s delicious and diverse food systems.

Keep Growing Detroit also hosts Open Hours at their farm twice a week on Mondays from 5-7 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. During these times Garden Resource Program members and individuals are welcome to stop by to volunteer, cultivate your farm skills, and/or ask questions.
