Take full advantage of beautiful Michigan summer nights with these free outdoor movie and concert series in and around Detroit.

Movie Nights in The D (Campus Martius)
Enjoy award-winning films on the big screen in the heart of the city through August. New this year, Universal Kids hosts a “Where’s Waldo?” special feature at 7:30 p.m. before all PG movies. Movies start at 8 p.m.

Chevrolet Plaza Summer Cinema (Little Caesars Arena)
Chevrolet Plaza at Little Caesars Arena is open for its first Summer Cinema Series, featuring family-friendly movie screenings throughout the summer at The District Detroit. All movies start at 7:30 p.m. Popcorn, soda, and water will be available with family-friendly pricing, as well as an outdoor bar for adults. Mike’s Pizza Bar and Sports & Social Detroit will also be offering 15 percent off food along with great drink specials before and after each screening (dine-in only).

The Detroit Red Wings Experience, presented by Coca-Cola, will be on hand with interactive hockey games for fans in attendance starting at 6:30 p.m. in advance of each screening. Complimentary parking is available in the Henry West Parking Garage (128 West Fisher Freeway).

New Center Park (Midtown)
New Center Park is a unique green space on the southwest corner of Second Avenue and West Grand Blvd, across from the Fisher Building. The park presents free movie screenings and theatrical performances every year from June-August. No outside food or drink are permitted in the park; New Center Park has a licensed bar and grill for refreshments during events.

Night Market at Beacon Park
Night Markets take place every Saturday night from 7 p.m. – midnight through Aug 24. Shop with the best of small businesses in Detroit showcasing handmade jewelry, t-shirts, and much more. Food trucks and a cash bar from Lumen Detroit will be on hand, plus live music from different artists each week.

City Hall Park (Dearborn)
Located in front of the historic former Dearborn City Hall building (13615 Michigan Ave), the park provides an enjoyable green space in the middle of downtown east Dearborn and is home to several outdoor events.

Friday Nites Music & Food Rallies (Dearborn)
Taking place the fourth Fridays of June, July and August from 5-10 p.m., Friday Nites Music & Foodie Rallies welcomes the entire gang to come out to Wagner park, located off of West Village Drive in Downtown Dearborn between Mason and Monroe. Take in the sights of summertime fun and enjoy the cuisine of local restaurants and food trucks, a craft beer garden, corn hole games, kids’ activities and more. The event is open to the public, and there is free parking available in public lots and decks.

Movies Under the Stars (Birmingham)
Birmingham’s movie night at Booth Park include complimentary popcorn, ice cream, water, and giveaways (while supplies last), plus a Wahlburgers Food Truck will be on-site for each movie night event. Pre-show entertainment begins at 7:30 p.m. followed by the movie at dusk. Booth Park is located on the west side of North Old Woodward, just south of Harmon Street.

Summer in the City Concert Series (Southfield)
Southfield Parks & Rec celebrates summer with its newest outdoor concert series featuring food trucks, games, and music from local acts on the Southfield Municipal Complex front lawn (26000 Evergreen Rd). The event runs from 6-9 p.m. on July 5 and 12, with the music kicking-off at 7 p.m.

Concerts are scheduled from July 9-Aug 20 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Burgh Historical Park (26060 Berg Road) in Southfield. New this year, mobile recreation program “Recreation on the Move” will be at each Gazebo Concert with games and fun for kids ages 5-13.  Free on-site parking is available.

Movies in the Moonlight is located in the parking lot at the corner of E. Third & Water, one block east of Main.  The pre-show starts at 8:30 p.m. and featured movies begin at dusk – approximately 9:15 p.m. Popcorn, candy, hot dogs, and soft drinks are available for purchase at the Meeting House tent and you are welcome to bring your own snacks.
